“Goodbye until my return” AW21 soundtrack

Some of us know only the surface of longing. It is necessary to go back into memory to find those who still know by heart the gesture of goodbye that does not guess return.  In the investigative dialogue of this research, this collection is born.  In each look we can find the story of who left and who let themselves stay. They are dry and warm waves that still shake the foundations of a naked family, generation after generation, by war and emigration. There are promises of melancholy and returns to the shadow of a cypress.

Good-bye, regards to the family,

until my return.

Most of our research for the soundtrack was inspired by soldiers' messages to their loved ones, often concluding with the phrase "Adeus, até ao meu regresso" (Goodbye until my return). Once again, in collaboration with Apart, we blended these references with songs from the project "A Música Portuguesa A Gostar Dela Própria." Below is one of these songs that had a significant influence on the soundtrack, mainly due to its lyrics. Translated as "Beautiful Face," this song, in reality, is a melancholic reflection on the condition of women and the challenges they often face.
